I modified these SR60i for fun to see how close I could get to my RS1i. I have to say that I'm very impressed by the end result and it took me quite a bit of A/B'ing to notice the differences between the two. I could easily live with these SR60i, but I just don't use them enough to keep them because I prefer my RS1i which is just that little bit more refined and smoother.
    Mods I've done:
-Obviously the stock plastic air chambers have been replaced by wooden ones. The type of wood is Padauk.
-I've vented the drivers (5 holes per driver)
-Applied a little blob of blu-tack on the back of the driver magnets for added bass impact and smoothness in the treble. (Grado does this also from the RS2 and up)
-Removed the white cloth covering the drivers for more clarity.
-Applied some felt onderneath the headband for more comfort. I find it stays more stable on my head with it because the vinyl headband tends to slide around on my head.
