Thanks to everyone who contacted me about the T60RP's

Yes, they are still available.

Had some issues with a a new app that wiped out my stored password info.
Solved that so I'm back online as of twenty minutes ago.
With apologies for the delay.

Please confirm your interest at your earliest convenience -

I'm replying to each in the order I received contact -
the price and other info all remain the same.

Thanks again,

They are very flat and shallow sounding with the stock pads. Something like the Protein Leather or Dekoni TX-0 pads make it a completely different headphone. If you want to eek out the last bit of performance improvement, get them Argon modded.

Hi rudbeard,

They sound really nice with the stock pads.
The earlier T Series had some perceived issues with the stock pads,
but Fostex really stepped it up with these - the T60RP - with softer,
deeper pads as well as their use of genuine wood.

Of the 4 Fostex T#0RP headphones I own, the T60RP with stock pads were a fair step up from the T50RP but only a marginal improvement over the Dekoni Blues; for me, the T60RPs make the same jump as T50RP stock is to the Blues when you use the same pads as Dekoni Blues. The lush wood cups of the T60RPs really shine when you compare them with an upgraded pad, sounding even better than any of the stock plastic cups – also, the mahogany wood is just gorgeous. The downward facing cable is nice and it's conveniently wired for 3.5mm balanced out of the box, which is nice.

Argon modding them pushes them a little further but it's definitely diminishing returns after the pad swap, Ryan from Modhouse even calls the changes more minor and "a little less bass and a little more treble than a T50/T40/T20RP based Argon" while recommending the ZMF Oval Suede (which I think would diminish the bass).

I want to emphasize that the T60RPs are not a bad headphone when stock, but they can be made so very much, much better through a simple pad swap or $90 upgrade.
