I am offering my much beloved DNA Stratus for sale, allowing you to avoid the 12-month wait for a new one. I had it upgraded to the latest version in July 2017. I have also upgraded to stock fuse to a Synergistic Research Blue Quantum Fuse, which gives an additional bump in resolution.
The Stratus needs little introduction. It is one of the finest 2a3 tube amps for headphones. It’s lovely in every way. The sound is exactly what one would hope for in a top shelf tube amp. It is a warm, organic, three dimensional just plain old toe tapping, head bobbing, staying up too late, forget about all the specs and just enjoy the music type of amp.
The amp functions 100% perfectly and is in brand new condition. Anything you see is dust, a fingerprint or a reflection. It’s a 9.9/10 and comes complete with the original box from Donald.
In addition to the amp itself, this listing includes:
The stock tubes (all have < 10 hours, so they are essentially new)
- Winged "C" (SED) 5U4G rectifier
- Sovtek 6N1P dual triode input/driver tube
- A pair of Shuguang 2a3B directly heated triode power tubes
A MATCHED pair of Sophia Princess 2a3 power tubes ($400)
An EML mesh 5U4g rectifier ($265)

Finally, I have a large collection of very rare, excellent quality 6n1p box plate input tubes as well as two 6n1p input tubes that have been painstakingly tested for the ideal electrical characteristics to match the Stratus.
