I'm selling a balanced Audio-Technica ATH-L3000 in near-mint condition, SER No. T419 / 500.

The sale includes all original accessories (black cardboard outer box, blue felt inner box, small black cable bag, headphone bag and paperwork). I will also include an XLR-1/4" adapter made by Enigma Audio so the headphone can be used with regular unbalanced equipment.

The stock cable has been reterminated by Enigma Audio with two black 3-pin Neutrik jacks w. gold-plated pins, original 1/4" jack cut off but included in case you want to solder the original jack back on the cable.

The L3000 is one of the best closed headphones available at any price with zero sound leakage. They have a warm and inviting sound that begs you to listen along with astonishing clean and deep bass reproduction.

As such, it is with great sadness that I have to sell them, because lately I haven't given them the love they truly deserve. I'm the second owner and they've had less than 100 hours of head-time combined from me and the first owner (akwok). If you look very closely there's an almost invisible ding on one of the mat-golden plastic rings surrounding the earcups, likely from someone putting it down on a table at a head-fi meet. The headphone is otherwise in pristine condition including the original leather pads which look brand new. There's also no cable fraying at all, unlike many other L3000s for sale.

I'm looking for SOLD, plus payment fees and shipping.

Here are some more pictures (full-size gallery):

They are exactly as described. I have just borrowed them for 2 weeks (being a former L3000 owner myself) to compare with my new Edition8. No winner, they simply provide 2 different kinds of sound. I like Darkless ended up finding their soundsig too dark but boy do they sound great.

I have Denon D7000, my question is, does the mids and highs sound like ESW10 and bass more impact like Denon D7K but accurate and textured? Or are they different, only AT I have heard are the ESW10.

DoYouRight, I would love to answer your question, but 1) I don't have any experience with the Denon D7K or ESW10 and 2) this is not a discussion forum, so in-thread discussions are not allowed. Please post your question in the Headphones (full-size) forum instead.

With regards to the pictures I won't be able to snap some pics until the weekend. I only have a poor camera so I need daylight in order to get some decent pics.

Some pictures I took when I borrowed them 2 weeks ago.
