I have a mix WMA Lossless and WMA VBR files in a large folder with subfolders (artist/album/etc) and would like to convert the lossless to FLAC but leave the WMA VBR as is. I use Dbpoweramp but Batch Converter does not differentiate between the two (although it can differentiate between major file formats such as FLAC/AAC/WMA using the Include/Exclude feature in the Filter list).

Does anyone know of any software that would dig into this extra detail and allow me to re-organize (or separate out) all the WMA VBRs from the WMA Lossless?

Thanks.

You could just got to your main music folder, do a search for the lossless file extention. Hit Ctrl+A and drag them to a folder entitled "Lossless" and do the same for the other. You could then use Foobar2000 and have the folder window to view "by folder structure". Just an idea.

If you have the original CD's I would rerip the CD's to something other than WMA VBR as even with the largest files of this type which can almost double the size of MP3 CBR there is a huge loss at the lower bits causing severe damage to wide dynamic range music. Even MP3's sound better at the lower levels than WMA VBR as do WMA CBR at the larger file sizes
