[SOFTWARE] Best encoder program?

In my opinion, "Exact Audio Copy" is the best Audio Ripping program available. I would encode all your music in FLAC (or ALAC if you love Apple). Both are fully lossless and take up much less room (in comparison to WAV and AIFF).

I'm using EAC to rip my audio CDs to FLAC but when I need an mp3 for my player I convert them using dbPowerAmp. It's not free but it's worth every penny if you're using it daily.

Not free? I use the converter only and have never paid a penny.

So the dbpoweramp converter is free, not only on a trail basis?

As far as I can tell , yes. With many trial-based programs, you can often just uninstall them and reinstall them for another trial period.

EAC+1 and then Media Monkey to tag all tracks. Media Monkey is great to organize music and transfer music to devices and not have to worry if the album art will work.  Both are free.
