It is officially released in a few hours in Japan!

Anyone grabbing one once it comes out?

At an estimated price of $750 imported, I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing how these beautiful babies stack up against the HD650's. I have a feeling they will obliterate the senns

Even though they are going to be closed, i have a feeling they'll be more like the semi-closed business of the R10 and CD3K. When I had the CD3K it sure looked closed - but you could hear in/out some.

I didn't realilze that these were a closed design. They sure look open. What about the SA3000 and SA1000 phones in the same series?

street price is around $600-$650 in japan i think (at least for pre-orders), but that's still a lot. These will be strongly considered for me if things don't turn out well when I audition the 010's on the 21st (ne1 care to join me at NYC?

At over twice the price they should be better than the senns. I sure hope they are. I would love to hear something that I like alot more than the senns and only have to pay 750.00 for them.

That's strange. I would have never guessed from the photo, they sure look open...

Slight hitch. The person who was picking up these phones for me in Japan fell ill while there, and didn't have time to buy them. Looks like I'll just have the Qualias to play with in the new year, because I'm not paying $700+ for one and I'm not desperate enough to ask my relatives to pick it up and ship it to me.
