These things are like sex to my ears compared to the plantronics headset I was using before. Hell, they even beat my $2000 home stereo setup. I finally know what you all mean by soundstage now. Also, there is so much more to hear now... I never realized until last night that a live concert recording I had was recorded on tape, but you can hear the hiss in the background now.

Now I'm gonna end up having to upgrade from the onboard (soundstorm) audio on my computer and probably get a chaintech. Though one thing I was wondering... which will get me better results, the chaintech or the m-audio 7.1? I'll be buying a second card (audigy 2 zs) for gaming so I'll be all about SQ on this card.

The Revo is obsolete in our circles by now. The common recommended "budget" card is the Chaintech, and the next significant step up is the E-MU 0404.

I would say that the Revo is still a better card. Better drivers, less problems It's just that the Chaintech's so cheap. That said, I recommend the EMU 0404. I just spent almost all my money and got the 1212m, and it does sound very good. 0404 should be a very good card.

as nice as the 0404 is, I'll probably end up w/ the chaintech cause of cost and since I want to buy a second card for gaming
