I think you would enjoy Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights. Their second album, Antics, is also good, but I couldn't stand their third album, Our Love to Admire.

I probably shill this group everywhere, but I really like all three albums from Sunset Rubdown.

You might also enjoy Post-Rock from Mogwai, Mono, 65daysofstatic, Slint, and Elf Fatima (if you can find it)

Since your tastes are similar to mine, I'm going to make a completely out there recommendation and suggest some Indie/Twee Pop as well. Camera Obscura, Jens Lekman, Belle and Sebastian and My Little Airport are all very nice.

Could I ask that you provide a link for a sample if possible? Makes it easier for any interested to hear immediately. Otherwise it takes some effort to find a sample. Youtube, amazon, etc. Yeah, I'm being lazy but when people make big lists, they seldom get full attention and we miss out on your tastes. Pleassssse.

someone mentioned Kayo Dot in another (singing in metal) thread - I find the music on Blue Lambency Downward reminds me of Yes at their proggy best, so if you like that kind of musical experimentation...

ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.
