I've been using Senheisser HD-201s for a while at work (because the HD-555s I use at home are open, and thus bug others -_-), and I just stepped on them and broke them (they are VERY shoddily made...).

I need a replacement, mainly that's comfy, closed, and not expensive. I saw a couple of recommendations, but I'm especially weary about comfort issues. So I'm open to good recommendations. Being a 'secondary' set of phones, I don't want to pay too much, and I'm only concerned about sound quality to the point that I can hear the music still sounding like itself, as it were.

So....thoughts? I know you're all a great big help, so...

Not to pick holes, but you STEPPED ON your headphones, which unsurprisingly broke, and you are saying that means they are shoddily made? I think you expect a wee bit much from your gear...

Well $60 may be a bit much, and I much prefer having the whole pad around the ear (I assume this is what you mean by 'circum aural'). But thanks for the answer anyway.

why not just re-perches the HD-201's because you are not going to get much better closed circumaural headphones under 50.00.

Few 'phone would survive being stepped on, and hence break.
Guess they are all VERY shoddily made...

Ah well it was more that I stepped on em from the side...plus they already had a part broken (that just seemed to come off) that I had to tape down. The HD-555s seem so much more /sturdy/, though and granted, cost $100 more...

As far as not buying HD-201s again, I just might, but the main issue was that they are on the quiet side, and I figured I'd see if there were other options first.
