Well, I let pride get the best of me the other day. I had a quick bit of work to do on my headphones and was working in front of a friend (hence the pride part) when I decided to remove the right driver. I pulled it out of the bottom two tabs, but hadn't yet (I have now) found a good way to get it out of the top two clips. I decided to twist it out - which worked, but as soon as it twisted, it came too hard and I ended up putting my thumb square through the diaphragm. So.... I've been working carefully with a relatively low-suction vacuum to reshape the diaphragm, but I'm not have a ton of success. I've got it back to sounding pretty good, but it seems to be lacking a bit of the bass and soundstage of the left driver - and, obviously, it doesn't look like I'll ever get it back to the perfectly-round shape it was in..
Does anyone know of a good way to do this, or am I better off trying to find a used diaphragm/element? Or should I just chunk out the change to Sennheiser and start burning in a entirely new driver hoping that it matches pretty well to the old one in the left ear?
For reference, the 600's are about 4 years old, so I guess it was about time I did something like this
Thanks, guys!
