Yea I bought a clip+ because it plays FLAC files and I have been using mediamonkey as my media player to rip my CD's into flac , but for some reason only certian files will sync to my clip+ , most of my files I have no problem syncing , can't figure out why. I'm hoping someone here on Headfi might know the reason . If I can't figure it out , I'll probably trade it in for a sony , don't really want to tho . If someone can help out , I sure would appreciate it . Also is there another media player out there that lets you uses FLAC files ? Maybe it is the media player I'm using , just speculating . Thanks so much .

I have Sansa Clip+ and I don't sync. instead I use mass storage mode and do my drag and drop like a flash drive. the media player I use is Foobar2000, it can play a lot of format out there. absolutely amazing player.

i also drag and drop files onto my clip+, i find that it works best if you create the directory structure you want on your hard disk first, copy all your flac files into these directories, then copy/paste the directories onto the clip+.. i've had issues with garbage characters showing up when i create a directory on the clip+ then rename it to the desired name

i'm using vista ultimate 64bit with the clip+

Total commander, its a clone of the old norton commander, its alot simpler to use then windows explorer, and allows "drag and drop" in a more comfy style,

well worth the money, but then again, using it for free just means you have to press a botton every time you start it,

When my gf's Sansa Fuze didn't want to read some podcast in mp3 format, a firmware update did the trick.
Have you updated the player since you got it?

I auto sync using MM and the Clip+ with a mix of FLAC and FLAC/mp3 files all the time and never a problem. The only issue I can think of is if that file is being used elsewhere at the same time. Maybe clear the playlist.

At my last check, maybe a week or two ago, there wasn't any update to the firmware yet. But re-formatting the player and reinstalling the firmware is a tried and true solution to many problems. Same goes for MM. Although it is putzy, you can clear the library and rebuild it.
