now that lots of people have been getting their MX300's, how do you like them? i still haven't gotten mine yet. but how do they compare to, say, the MX500's and the iPod earbuds? please, don't compare them to your gazillion-dollar HD600 setup

do they sound anything at all like the MX400/500's or the iPod buds?

it was a promotion sennheiser ran in rolling stone a few months ago to advertise the then-new PX series of headphones. fill out a questionaire and get a free pair of earbuds. but do the MX300's sound anything like the MX500's? i'd like a nice pair of earbuds and i'm not sure if i'll find it in these freebies.

Yes, unfortunately, you are indeed too late, but stick around here for a while and maybe you'll find some other interesting offers in the near future. I'm glad that I've been visiting this place regularly and was there for the senn survey and the rerelease of the ksc-35.

I got my free Sennheiser MX300s today though I can't comment about the MX400/MX500 earbuds. FWIW, I think that they sound pretty decent. Bass is bloated and boomy. Mids are distant and recessed. Highs have a bit of a bite to them; sibiliance is present...at times. They rest loosely in my ears. I filled out the Rolling Stones online form to get them because they were free and I wanted to give my cousin the "gift of sound." However, she doesn't like anything that's "too big!" She likes them a lot and I am happy.

the mx300 is pretty sucky. i compared them to the mx400, and all i can say is that both of them sound like ass. i guess my ears don't like buds.

Mine are still in the package. I'll get around to trying them sometime. I don't expect much, it's their low-end earbud. Maybe good for loaning out.

Well...... figuring they retail for like $5.... and we got them for free, they are not too bad....

However, what are anyother hyper-portable headphones other there? (minus etys)

Got my MX300s a few days ago. Put them in and was disappointed at the quality. No highs to speak of, very muddy midrange and spotty bass. Of course, as stated previously they *were* free so I can't expect the world from them. I'll stick with my Pro-35s from Radio Shack (Koss KSC-35 drivers) and my Sony EX-70LPs. Someone just offered to buy these Senns from me so who knows, $10 and they're history.
