Hey everyone,

long time lurker, first time poster.
Well...i've posted in the Buy/Sell forum, but yeah, first post here.

Anyway...here is the dillema.

I'm looking for some new cans for my iPhone + home use, so been doing a lot of research.

Some prices in Melbourne Australia are ridiculous, so also been doing a lot of research online, price wise.

I know a lot of these are different in sound AND price but bear with me.

I mostly listen to hip hop. No commercial stuff, so as jiggy as I get is Jay Z, Biggie, Nas, etc..
Other stuff I love is funk, soul, jazz, etc.

So some of my pics so far are:

Ultrasone HFI-580

Audio Technica WS70

Shure 750DJ

Phiaton MS400

Denon AD1001

Found the Phiaton's on this website and from everything I hear they are great.

My other problem is...I work 9-5..MOST audio stores (one's that sell higher end cans at least) are NOT open on weekends, so I can't really test many phones and hear them for myself, so I kinda HAVE to go by people's reviews.

Any help is appreciated!

thanks guys!

The dilemma will be your wallet :)

In general are you looking for some closed back or open headphones?

With pure conscience I can recommend the DT770/80, maybe used in this forum.

Further the HD25 but these are on ear.

From what I ve read the ATH 50M are also good (no pure conscience because I ve never auditioned them)

i got my 750dj from the cranbourne music store opposite melbourne central!

really??

havent been to the city/cbd in ages...working in Hawthorn.

How do you like the 750's??

I hear people say, they're very plastic-y and way too bass happy...eventhough I listen to hip hop and love bass...too much can just be...too much?
