so after about 2 months, I really like my NE-7ms, but...

god damn, I cannot stand to have them in my ears anymore. I guess it's the tips that are bugging me, but they are just so uncomfortable. I was never really cool with IEMs in the first place, but I used some mylarone x3is for a long time and I guess I sort of just got used to it.

but the NE-7Ms, I've been trying to get used to for the entire time. at first, I was thinking they were pretty comfy. I dunno what exactly was wrong with me at the time. right now, every time I am going to listen to music, be it in class or on the bus ride home, I have to think: is this really worth it? and a couple songs in, I'm already taking them out and rubbing my ears before putting em back in.

I'm not sure why I can't get em comfortable. I've tried the foam tips they came with, they're a little better but they sound a lot worse and after a while feel just as bad. I've tried the medium tips, they're way too big. so right now, I just dunno what to do. I was thinking of trying to get new tips. I heard positive things about the Comply T-400s but I am not so sure about spending $15 on tips

and I don't really know if its the tips for sure, I'd hate to spend the money and realize they're not much better.

If the are uncomfy now, the T400s probably won't help. I had them too, and used the Complys (could not get a good seal with the silicones), and they always felt stuffed into my head. The sound tubes are very thick, and the do go pretty deep for canal phones. I agree that they just felt too tight. I would not spend the money on Complys, since they represent 25 percent of the cost of the phones. But that doesn't help you much. PM me and I will mail you a pair of T400s, in fact. I have extras. That way, you can make an informed decision about the Complys.

I wear my NE-7s out as far as they can go and still get a seal. The only time I have an issue with this config is when I am working out hard and sweating a lot and then take them out and put them back in, as they then start to fall out. I don't think they are that comfortable jammed in my ears, nor do they sound very good.

And IMO the complys are so much softer than any other tip they would have the best chance at feeling good, but they can reduce the treble.

Complys are really soft... they should almost always be comfortable IMO. But everyone has different years, so to each their own.

When I used the Complys, they didn't actually hurt, and were soft. I just felt the phones were stuffed into my head, never really felt like they weren't there, which is the case with other IEMs I own.
