It is ready!!! Auro-3D is ready!

For those that are interested... Please send James an email with your log file.

The price of the decoder is $199.

This is going to be fun!
For owners of Realiser A16 who are in the EU and want to purchase Auro 3D decoding, the amount required by paypal might be roughly 248 USD (199 USD as Auro 3D fee, 39.80 USD as VAT (20%) and probably 9 USD as paypal fee.

I think it’s good to know that paypal might offer to charge your cards in the currencies of the countries you are in. Don’t be fooled as your banks certainly have much better conversion rates for US dollar than paypal.

Thank you so much. Just sent James a message.
Short question for my understanding.
Is there a dummy room available for Auro 3D like the BBC room, or do we have to have our own measurements right from the start?

John, do you know if you can get it without also getting DTS-X?

Sorry for the delay.. I was asleep.

The BBC already contains the channels for Auro-3D.*

* But I can tell you they do differ from Auro-3D specifications as far as azimuth angles.

* I'm also not certain if the angle of the 30° height channels are aimed at the listener's head when standing / 20 to 30 cm above the head when seated...

At the French forum homecinema-fr.com/, Hugo S - Président de l'Association & Admin Relations PROs has posted some useful information following a private talk to James Smyth.

„1- the programmed Auro version the will be implemented in the A16, is it the latest Auro3D, which has the latest version of the AuroMatic upmixer? Or is it another version?
J : Yes the latest Auro with Auro Matic upmixer is now avaialble.

2- for installing the Auro upgrade, is it necessary to already have the DTS upgrade?

J : You need DTS X to allow Auro to work.

3- if the DTS upgrade is mandatory, what would be the total cost of the DTS + Auro upgrade?
J : The total price is $400 + VAT.

4- to install this Auro upgrade (+eventual DTS), how one has to proceed?
J : Are you interested in purchasing both? If you are please send me your A16 log file.

5- when will this Auro upgrade be available?
J : we still have to update the manual as there is important information about the Auro setup. This should be added to the manual in the next week.”

Thanks Yes, I saw this right after I posted, I don't see the up mixer options though. Not in the preset screen or in pcm setup within.

I agree, I'll wait for the manual. I'd like James to officially announce the availability of Auro-3D, pricing, and requirements for enabling Auro-3D, and update the manual. I did purchase DTS-X license, and I don't have any complaints other than lack of communication.
