Well, I know everyone says that wrapping earbuds and clips around your portable is a sure way to kill the wiring inside faster... but what about smartwraps? You're essentially winding 'em around this tight plastic thing to take up the slack... isn't this even more vicious to the buds?

i bought one and tried it once, never again, they put too much tension on the cord IMO, and after a day of using one on an old pair of Senn buds i have, it left permanent bends in the wire /bleh

I use one of these with my k81's, and nothing has happened so far.
The cable is like permanently creased though. Seems like it can't be good....

I have a lot of cable issues...I've already replaced the jack cause it went out in the area close to it, and now i have a more serious problem with my e2c's, as the cable is bad right next to the bud. As far as I know, this is not fixable.

I must be hard on my gear -__-

The only truly safe way to manage a cable is to coil it around in a loop, never putting stress at any point on the cable. Something like a cable wrap might be okay if you plan on leaving it in the cable wrap, but if you're going to be wrapping and unwrapping it often, the cable is going to wear prematurely and eventually develop a short.

good point, i use a few for my iriver remote and my nw-hd5 remotem but they have thicker cable than IEMs - i briefly tried one with my ety er4 last night, and took it off after a while.

i need a auto-retractor module!!

I guess any round object that could be used as a spool would be great.

yep its exactly the same as the sumajin one, just with their branding on.

wont necessarily damage it, but if you take it off, make it look like a twisty phone cord

Don't be twisting so tight and your wire won't crimp as much if you are worried about that.

Personally, I love this accessorry as it is very light in terms of weight. Very convenient for my uses.

i find making a loose circle with the cable and a wire twist tie works better,,or velcro wire ties.

Those things never seemed big enough to hold the whole cable, nor did they have a strong enough hold to keep them from falling off. So basically they've been useless. But I like my fishbone one, it lives on my mouse's cable, but doesn't really serve a purpose there.
