So much of this ranting and raving about the great engineers here at Head-Fi, and this is what I get.
Since we last moved one of the frontend servers we forgot to update one of the scripts -- launching an old version of a daemon, on old configs. Notice my strategic use of the word we. Things should straighten out in a few minutes or so.
