I was wondering if anyone had experience with both these devices. I see that the Dr. Bott only has ports ( a fire-wire and line-out), the SLIK has fixed cables for both the same ports. Would I be better off with the Dr. Bott and using a high quality mini-to-mini, instead of going SLIK, and using a mini-to-mini off of their cable? Would the SLIK cable defeat the purpose of having a high quality mini-mini in the chain?

Does the SLIK lock into the port like Apple's cable? I note the Dr. Bott has no locking mechanism and just relies on friction.

I plan to use an SR-71 and iPOD in a compartmentalized pouch, probably the Waterfield one (large version designed for the inMotion).

What are people's thoughts on which adapter might put less stress on the iPOD's port if I'm carting it around in the Warterfield?

I've got to the end of the month to put this together. That is when "the eagle flies"
