Hello! Having recently moved to a nation that is affectionately known as "Rip-off Britain", I came to understand what that meant when I began searching for my first pair of IEMs...

I was interested in the SA6's, and ClieOS pointed me to the only UK supplier of this nice piece of kit (hifiheadphones.co.uk). I fired off an email to them because despite the added costs for import duty and P&P, it was still cheaper for us UKers to buy from the US of A. Well not anymore!!!!

Im not in the UK and I got mine here in the US for $189 but I wanted to say good job on this. Im sure you are going to make some folks very happy. Now I gotta figure out how much that is US just for curiosity sake.

£128 = $256 (approximately). Remove the 9% import duty and 17.5% VAT and it's not too far off $189. Certainly a lot better than the originally advertised price of £159.

£128 is certainly a great price and if only more retailers would be fair in this regards rip off Britain may become a thing of the past.

I reckon the best way to convince them to lower prices is to make it worth their while to do so (sadly, the reverse rarely works, in my experience vendors rarely lower prices to encourage sales). Hence why I thought I'd spread the love here...

For such specialist things, forums like this are surely critical to good sales.

Let's hope we've convinced this vendor to reduce prices on more stuff, and that other vendors will follow suit.

Thanks very much for this post roxxor - I've just ordered a pair. They should be a step up from the Sony Ericsson HPM-70's I've been using recently (which are, admittedly, 0.04 times as expensive).

Thought I'd also give the company a plug. Called the guys up (Sean) and basically talked about my options around the Triple.fi price point. He was friendly and informative and I got a 10% student discount bringing the total price to £170 inc p+p and a 2 year warranty (UE now offers 1 year). Great deal even comparing to USA!

Thats a very nice UK price on the Triple-fi.
Think I paid around £185 (all in) on AmazonUK for mine ......which was by far the best deal at the time.

This company can expect some decent business from European Head-Fiers if they keep those kind of prices going.

Unless the company falsifies the customs declaration form, you'll have to pay VAT on that. You also forfit your 2 year warranty by not purchasing from an authorized dealer. Not worth the £17 in savings imho.
