I want to get some new headphones to use mostly around my house for my computer and iPod. I'm basically deciding between the Skullcrushers and Hesh.

I could get the Hesh for $50 from Best Buy and then get another $15 off making it $35. This would be half the price that the Skullcrushers are, but these look a little bulky and uncomfortable to wear.

The Skullcrushers would cost $60-70, but I like how they look and how they are more compact than the Hesh. But are these really worth double the price?

Which would you get and why?

I have a question. Why do you only limit yourslf to only these two choices?
And, you've kind of posted it in the wrong section i think.

either of those are more style rather than function... SQ is pretty bad lots of reviews attest to that. have you tried senn HD280 or grados SR60/80s?

Skullcandy are almost concidered a joke on this forum, basically the sound they deliver is very bad in comparison with other alternatives for the same price, such as the grado sr 60. I've never even heard of Hesh before. I recommend you read a little first

I'm pretty sure 80%+ of the people read / search before they post a new topic.

Not all listeners would agree with that though.
My friends are examples. To them, Quantity> quality.

not exactly "over" the ears but there is always the AKG 81DJ for like 60ish.

I know, i know, same here! Especially people my age.

To me treble sparkle is important, if that is there then i like alot of bass. Livewires = Both... Livewires + D2 Jeteffects = Treble + crazy bass.

Skullcandy HESH. If you want to choose between those two, get the HESH. The Skullcrusher is a fart cannon. Look at YouTube, there's a video where someone shows it vibrating across the table. A headphone with *good* bass will not vibrate across a table.
