I'm having trouble deciding which of these to buy:
Sennheiser HD600
Grado SR-325i
Grado RS-1i
The HD600 would be a no-brainer except that portability is a significant factor for me. With velcro and foam artfully arranged, I can place headphones, DAC/amp, extra batteries, solar charger, portable player, and perhaps other items in one extremely protective case equally suited to bicycle pannier, backpack or checked airplane baggage.
The problem is I can't find exact size specs for these headphones despite hours of searching. Sennheiser hasn't replied to my email from a few weeks ago requesting size specs.
Can anyone help? Maybe someone who owns one of these models can grab a tape measure?
Here's a list of protective cases (e.g. Seahorse, Pelican, Underwater Kinetics, Otterbox, etc) that might work for full-size headphones:
BW-05
BW-05 Dry Box (1.2008): Fuerte Cases
Interior: 8.07" x 5.70" x 2.75"
UK-309
UK-309 DRY BOX: Fuerte Cases
Interior: 8.5" x 6.0" x 3.0"
UK-409
UK 409 DRY BOX: Fuerte Cases
Interior: 8.5" x 6.0" x 3.7"
BW-10
BW-10 Carrying Case (1.2809): Fuerte Cases
Interior: 9.84" x 7.08" x 3.14"
SE-300
SE-300: Fuerte Cases
Interior: 9.59" x 7.42" x 3.98" (24.35cm x 18.84cm x 10.11cm)
S3 T5000
S3 T5000 Watertight Case: Fuerte Cases
Interior: 9.375" x 7.250" x 4.125" (238.13 x 184.15 x 104.78 mm)
S3 T6000
S3 T6000 Watertight Case: Fuerte Cases
Interior: 12.000" x 9.000" x 4.000" (304.80 x 228.60 x 101.60 mm)
By the way, I believe the SE-300 would perfectly accomodate an 8.9" netbook, Grados, a portable DAC/amp, a CoreSound Mic2496, an M-Audio Transit, binaural mics, and some cables and batteries. Talk about a marriage between portability and quality for all-purpose music studio!
