How hard would it be to make an RCA switch box for a beginner? Takes L and R from an Emu 0404, for example, and outputs to either a speaker amp or a headphone amp (switch or knob to choose between two RCA outputs).

It would not be hard to solder the wires to a rotary switch and drill a couple of holes in a premade enclosure. The part that's a little tricky is making sure the wires going to the right places but with a little forethought, you should be fine.

Without a switch, it should already work, because 0404 has 2 sets of outputs, 1/4" TRS, and 1/8" stereo, in addition to the 1/4" headphone output.
