Hi, I need to reterminate speaker wires, and need spades. Speakers are high-end, so looking for good quality. Q: Any recommendations for source to buy spades? And what's best type of connection -- should they be crimped to bare wire, or will I need to solder for best connection? Is there a particular brand I should look for? Thanks for your help.

Outfits such as Madisound or Parts Express have good spade lugs.

A crimped connection is superior to a soldered one, but only if it's done right with a good crimper (not an el-cheapo!). For home speaker use, since the wires won't be subjected to much movement and stress, I recommend soldering.
