I love my SHE3850's to death but I have some issues with them.

Cable is way too noisy
No inline mic or volume controls.

Any recommendations for IEMs that sound as good as the 3850's that resolve the above issues?

Get the SHH3580(mic version of SHE3580) and wear them over the ear

They fit very well over ear if you wear them so the stems point forward rather than down.  For me though I find that that works mostly if I reverse the left and right sides.

I can also wear them over ear with the stems pointing down by looping them 360 degrees around my ears but the cables can fall off my ears that way.

The SHH3580's only have MIC control I thought, not volume or track control.

It's got a mic with one button, which can be used to pause, skip forward and back by single, double and triple press I think?

The angle on the nozzles are just about 20 degrees from being straight so you should be able to fit them in over your ears without swapping left/right. But that's something you'll have to try for yourself. I've read that while SHH should be the same as SHE some have reported differences in sound quality. Cables shouldn't matter very much so maybe you could consider buying a dedicated cable w/ microphone and in line control. Just plug in your headphones of choice and voila, a headset. Also I think Fiio are releasing an amp/in line mic. Called E2 if I'm not mistaking, someone please verify or dismiss.

i guess u are using iphone, right? it seems that we are seeking something same.
some of philips iem with volume control do compatible with iphone, but price 3 or 4 times higher than she3580. i don’t know whether apple or philips should be blamed. however, the biggest unknown is how do they compare with she3580 in terms of sound signature?

if i guess wrong, u are using android or other devices. u should realize that the volume control is no guarantee to work, since different brands hv different 3.5mm jack design.
