I recently acquired a Silverstone EB01 DAC and was testing it out with my different computers. It works perfectly with my old emachines m6805 PC laptop. However, it acts strange with my Powerbook. Firstly, it doesn't always recognize the DAC. It always pops up on my SoundSource bar, but there's no audio output. Other times, when it does output a signal, the sound is distorted like an old atari soundtrack.

I thought that maybe the Powerbook wasn't giving it enough power, so I used my D-Link Powered USB hub but upon connecting the DAC, even the power light doesn't turn on.

I'm wondering if anyone has had any luck getting the EB01, or any USB powered DAC to run on a Mac laptop or USB hub.

Thanks, your help is greatly appreciated.

On my Win2K machine, I had to disable all other sound sources to get it to work. I know this may not be applicable to a Mac, but I figure it doesn't hurt.
