After looking for a reasonably priced USB DAC I decided on the Silverstone EB01 (AU $143 delivered).
I received it a couple of days ago, and I must say that I'm quite impressed with the simplicity of the setup and the SQ.
For a while now I'd been struggling with capacity on my iPod mini using VBR MP3's. The first benefit of using the EB01 is that I can now have all my music on my PC, and in uncompressed format.
My rig now consists of PC -> EB01 ->M^3 (24v Steps) ->AKG K701.
This configuration is lovely. Apart from building one of the new Millet Max amps for fun, I'm actually pretty happy with the sound I'm getting.
I think I'll change the capacitors and possibly the opamps on the EB01 for fun, but I think I have found a configuration that I'll probably stick with for a while.
Does anybody know of any mods for this device?
