It's my understanding that the thinner the conductor the better the IC will sound - therefore a lot of people work with 30awg silver wire at the expense of working ease. I was curious on IC designs that involved using silver foil maybe sandwiched between long strips of teflon - the spacing being used as an air dielectric - although wouldn't contact with the teflon (although a good dielectric) defeat that?

Where would you get silver foil? Are you going to flatten a silver wire into a foil?

I'm using 33awg silver wire...pretty delicate to work with.
