My HD590 havnt seen much use since I got me the Philips SHP895. Actually, I dont like the HD590 for standard reasons here (shrill highs, recessed mids, bump in the midbass). Recabling and amping are not possible for me. I can trade it for the K81DJ (I would like to have a closed portable). Will I lose much SQ? How do these compare?

You will lose detail and resolution, and gain bass; you will lose a pair of headphones you've upgraded past, and gain a pair you'll actually use. Why not?
