I'm currently using a pair of IEMs with soft, tipped, foam inserts. I'm considering going for a pair of silicone insets, but I don't know how they are. In your experience, how are the silicone tips? Thanks.

The future sonics double flange silicon tips are by far the best i have used! So good, that I no longer have the need to use foamies anymore!

It gets better...future sonics now sell these tips seperately!!!

With my etys I personally love the silicone tips for them, both the triple and double flanged. I do have a preference for the triple flange though. I'm not sure how your foamies feel in your ears but when I use the ones standard on the etys it expands too much and causes discomfort when wearing for long periods of time (>1.5-2 hours) while the silicones tend to stay fairly comfortable. Every once in a while the triple flange will itch the ear a bit, which is an odd feeling but still preferred to the foam inserts.

I just got in a pair of super.fi 5s today and again I am finding the double flange silicone tips that came with it more comfortable. Also the foamies that came with it look far more proper for sanding wood than ear canal insertion.
