Are there any in ear monitors or earbuds, etc, that can be used for laying on ones side? The most comfortable position for me to lie in is on my side, and my grados obviously don't work very well, and I have sealed ATH-M40s that, well, they arn't as bad as the grados, but still hurt and press up against my ear unless I position my face very oddly.

I have tried earbuds and they still push into my hear and hurt, is there any options I am not considering, or has anyone tried IEMs on your side with your head on a pillow (I like to listen to music before going to sleep).

Thanks.

I have to admit, that is one thing that speakers are good for.

Helps if the rest of your household is deaf, though.

A really soft pillow helps out (like a nice fluffy down pillow). It helps a bit if you double it up for extra neck support. I have to admit though I've never completely slept through the night with earphones on (I used to doze off with regular earbuds until I got my Shure E4s

) cuz I usually end up taking them off after a bit.

I've never used one but maybe an IEM with custom ear molds would be more comfy for prolonged sleeping sessions?

ER-6i with Shure ultrasoft flex sleeves is extremely comfortable and isn't too noticeable when lying down on your side. If you want to put up a little extra money, I'd have to think that getting custom earmolds with these would not only increase comfort, but help with isolation and also decrease the slight chance that any tip might get stuck in your ear during sleep. (I've never had a tip get stuck, but since you are using another company's eartips on the ER-6i, I suppose they might come off if you didn't get the correct barrel size.)
