Question...according to the e2c manual, we can't use the tri-flanges with them (I think it actually says that none of the other sleeves available for other Shure phones are "compatible")

I don't know. I'd think they would fit, but don't know for sure.

They won't fit, because the bore (tube) size is too different. I think E2c's bore size is approximately 1.5 times the size of the E3c/E5c bore size.

Reason they are so different... E2c uses a dynamic driver, not a balanced armature driver. They haven't figured out how to make a tri-flange for E2c that wouldn't distort the sound over that distance so much.
