I have some issues with the tri-flanges. I'm wondering, do the Shure single flange tips fit on an ER-6i?

Yeah. I use Shure Ultra-Soft Flex Sleeves on my ER-6is.

This is slightly off topic, but SHure e2c tips (excluding foamies) fit on both sony ex71's and the apple in ears.

Well at least for me the e2c foamies fit great on the apple in ears. Horrible sounding phones but at least with the e2c foamies I can get enough isolation to use them as gratting cutting phones.
