Hi Everyone,

This is my first post on this website. I'm looking to buy a new pair of headphones and really needed the advice of all you experts. I'm new to this scene so I'm just starting to get an understanding on how everything works. I listen mainly to chill house and trance but none of their really hardcore stuff. Apart from that I listen to all different types of music but house and trance are on the top of the list. I was looking at the:

(in order of what i think is the best according to past forms. but i'm probably wrong.)

1. Shure SRH840
2. Audio-Technica ATH-M50
3. DENON AH-D1001K
4. Sennheiser HD 448

I would prefer something that did a decent job at blocking out outside noise as i'm a uni student always working away in a noisy library. I'm also going to be using the headphones for long periods of time, so comfort is also essential. Let me know which headphones you would think are best for me.
Thanks for your help!

Definitely will get better isolation from IEM. I only have experience with the M50s- they sound great with trance. Nice thumping bass, when called upon. Pretty comfortable after you get use to them.

Um, yes i would be willing to try IEM. My only concern with them is that I'm not sure how comfortable they would be after a few hours of use. I have also found them to be less durable however if you could recommend me a nice durable pair with good isolation and sound quality i will defiantly give it a shot.
