Can someone give me an idea of how much better a seal the Shure line of canalphones gives as compared to Sony EX70/71s? Thanks!

MUCH better. at least in my ears. The shure comfort sleeves create a tight fit, twist and remove slowly or the suction will place a vaccuum on your eardrum.

Much better. I am a band director who shares an office next to the bandroom. When the band is playing in the other room with our other director I can't hear them at all. I love my E3's!!

With the Shures, I can finally listen to intrumentals or vocal music on the noisy bus - and on pretty low volume. You'll save your ears, and hear more details.
