I'm fine^^ to be honest, I'm not a big fan of sales anyway. I want the maker to sell the product for an fair price that is worth it and that's it.

The ONKYO IE-K1 Universal are on sale with 50% for over a month now. Everyone who bought it for the original price probably feels very annoyed and stupid.
See your point. I would not be happy which is why I try to buy used.

Onkyo’s parent company is not doing well. Some think they’ll be bankrupt (and take with them their other brands like Klipsch)

ONKYO did went bankrupt, they completely restructured their business and restarted now focussing on Headphones, Earphone, IEM and Anime Merch..

They developed their own BA drivers and together with FitEar are manufacturing IEM using these drivers.

So this is basically their first big thing after they restarted

Still haven't received my UTWS5 2025 as Canada Post has the parcel and they're on strike as of Nov. 20th. Almost hoping it doesn't get delivered by Christmas as that's 35 days past the scheduled delivery date. According to Aliexpress if it's not received in that time frame, I get a full refund and don't have to return the parcel if/when it does arrive. Based on the comments in the release thread (and here), I'm not expecting it to be a great experience.

I am using the TW2 quite heavily, on average 2 charges per day. Overall I'm happy with them but I do still get more drop-outs than there should be. Bluetooth and WiFi congestion in my condo complex is horrid. Over 40 Bluetooth devices and 50+ WiFi networks show up, so I'm guessing that plays a part in the drop-outs. What's sad is that the smaller AirPod Pro 2nd gen are much more reliable connection wise. Sound quality of the TW2 paired with the SE846 is excellent, but unfortunately I still need to run them at pretty much full volume to overcome my tinnitus.

I also saw that KZ TWS adapter mentioned in the UTWS5 release thread but have no 2 pin IEMs so it's not for me. I do have some .78 to MMCX adapters but I've never used them as I always order MMCX cables. And of course the TW2 is MMCX. I bought a TRN BT20 Pro off Drop using some credit I had from a return, but they're complete garbage too. The only thing I'm still using is the USB A to USB C cable as it has a longer connector on the USB C end and that makes it easier to make a connection on some of my gear that uses a very recessed USB C connector.

I'm considering going for a full-size set of BT cans to use when watching video content. The IEMs on the TW2 and the AirPod Pros are great for music from the iPhone/MacBook Pro/iPad, but I do hate having to power off to change active side every 2 hrs or so with the TW2. Surprisingly the AirPod Pros are also better in this regard - they discharge pretty evenly regardless of which side is the active one. Any suggestions on fullsize BT cans? I'm currently looking at the Sennheiser and Apple fullsize sets which get great reviews, but the Apple ones are a bit costly (like all Apple gear).

It sounds like you will get them for free unless there is legal verbiage saying strikes do not count. I still have not gotten the Planar I ordered. Fiio is choosing cheapest shipping options. I am returning that one anyway as I have Supermoon. I would try different BT codecs to see if that helps the connection. If you have Android you can do this in developer options. Not sure of Iphone. That cheapo BT ships fast and is most comfortable I have tried. After 3 battery cycles charge is lasting even longer. You just need an adapter but for $24 its a great deal. I ordered another one. The wings are super light weight silicone material that is flexible.

You will get them for free!! They will email you once its been 30 days and then you have to request refund. I still have not gotten the Planars and my refund has been approved. Make sure you check your email a few times per day. I was going to return them but now don't have to if I ever get them.

Nice! Hope you get your free planars. I'm past being annoyed that Fiio used standard postal service with the impending strike. Now I'm even more annoyed at a 2nd company on Aliexpress that I ordered from. Not audio components but computer parts, specifically the Sipeed NanoKVM. I ordered 2 of the full versions and 1 of the lite version and both shipped yesterday via the same lousy postal service. Even with Aliexpress knowing and mentioning that Canada Post is on strike. They gave a delivery date of Jan. 18th, 2025, so if not received by Feb. 23rd, that's another refund. Sad as the shipment is already on a plane from China to Canada but will sit waiting for the strike to get settled.

I got them for free. Saved me the hassle of returning them as they are not comfortable and CA Supermoon is much better. I am gifting them for Xmas. You should be getting your first order free as it was placed before the strike.

And looks like it's the same for my Fiio order. Just got the email re: refund from Aliexpress and it was processed immediately but as usual will take a couple of days for the refund to show up on my account. They don't mention what to do should the product arrive but I've heard from others and even you with your planar IEMs that no return is necessary.

Now to decide if I want to hold off on purchasing from my local dealer who has them in stock, and $10 cheaper than the price from Fiio direct. He doesn't have a demo unit so I'll have to decide if it's worth trying or just passing on it altogether. The reviews on it are certainly mixed. Yours sounded like it had a bad battery, but your other concerns are still valid.

I'm managing OK swapping between my TW2 and AirPods for now. I checked all over for a decent deal on a pair of fullsize BT cans during Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and didn't come across any that I was interested in. Still have Boxing Day/Week specials coming soon, so perhaps I'll grab something then.

You will get the refund fast. I got mine the next day. I would not buy another set. Yes you get to keep that one whenever it manages to reach you and maybe you will be happy with them or they release a firmware update to fix some issues. I am really happy with the $24 set. The battery life and range is good. You just need to buy 2 pin to MMCX adapters but the wings are soft and flexible which would be perfect for you to sleep with. The Fiios aren't worth $150. IF you are going to spend that I would just get another TW2 set so you always have one charged. 4 hour battery life is rubbish. I get 6 with the $24 set.
