Hi All,
I have seen a couple of pretty good offers for these on ebay UK.
They have got a price difference of about 30GBP~$58.
Would there be any difference in sonic signature?
Are the SE530s worth that extra $60?
Your help is pretty much appreciated.
Thanks..........

Try the search function. Lot's of discussions about how these differ or not.

I must say that if money is your problem, get the E500.
On theory, the E500 and E530 are almost the same

So, the E500 is the best bargain.

The phones themselves are identical.
The e500 will have extra hardware though (push to hear device)
I'd go with the e500 if they're cheaper.
If for some reason down the line they need replacing under warranty you'll probably get sent a se530 by shure.

eh? you only get the PTH device if thats what you order, with either the E500 or SE530, they both sell versions of each as plain headphones or with PTH which is more costly.

It's just the lighting and the angle at which the pictures were taken. Both models are the bronze color.

I thought only se530 gave you the option to forgo the pth module.
All the reviews i read before buying had this down as a gripe about the original e500 (could of cost less & done away with the module)

Also bear in mind this, the E500 comes with the PTH, is exactly the same as the SE530, and is cheaper. If you do not need the PTH, you can sell it separately to recoup a bit of what you paid.

And if you were planning to sell the E500s later on, you'd probably get a price closer to what you paid initially for them. So all in all, I'd say the E500's were better value.

Since you do keep repeating yourself, where can you buy brand new E500s without the PTH module? I only see E500PTH listed on Shure's website (and, of course, it is discontinued now anyhow).

I think it was only in theory. I've read the marketing literature/brochure and it clearly states that the E500 will be available in two packages, one with PTH and the other without.
