Hey- I have a question about the SE310's and anything else you can recommend for mostly techno music. I am looking to spend about 50 bucks (although I would be willing to go as high as about 120 or so if it's worth it) on a nice pair of headphones that would be a step up from my current ipod default's (yes, newbie), and upon 30 minutes of searching this forum I haven't found a clear answer to:
how the SE310's are with techno?
and what the best techno earphones in that price range would be?

It's such a confusing jungle of choices that I decided to come here for help and check out the forum, thanks guys.

Edit: At the moment I am leaning towards the Shure SE310's, but I have heard good things about the Klipsch Image S4's, or even the V-Moda Vibes (although Amazon speaks of lack of durability) and of course am open to suggestions.

I haven't heard them, but if they sound similar to the SE210's I would avoid them for techno. The SE210's are very mid oriented with little high end or low end.

Most people seem to enjoy the Monster Turbines at macmall if you can go up to $120. If you only want to spend $50, the Nuforce NE-7M's are great for the money.

Don't get the SE310, or any low end shure by my experiences.

I used to own the SE210s and sold them due to very weak bass response. I picked up the SE310s in their place and they do have much more pronounced bass. Their mids/highs are very good.

However, they pail in comparison to my Westone 3s in every case. But the $$$ does go up considerably ($400 USD).

I'm not sure how you'd get the SE310s for $50 bucks. You'd have a hard time getting used SE110s for that.
