How will my new UE triplefi10 compare to my current eims: Shure SCL4 and Shure SE420?I like the comfort of the SCL4s and they seem to be warm and accurrate. My SE420 seem a bit more neutral but the have significant bass. Both seem represent highs and mids quite well.

Note: my UE 10s seem to be defective and need to be returned...

Unfortunately my SCL4 are mostly dead (short in the cord near the headphone jack), so I can't do a detailed side by side listen, but I would say they have fairly different sound signatures. The TripleFis have a much more full bodied compared to the SCL4, and I'm quite certain they hit frequencies with ease on the low end that the SCL4 would have trouble with. That said, I think I perferred the highs on the SCL4 a bit more - I remember them being a bit more... airy?

Hope this helps.

X2. TFP10 will have a much fuller airier sound. SLC4 is not a bad sounding IEM but sounds much more limited dynamically. TFP10 should clearly be a step up in SQ but a step down in ergonomics/fit.
