I'm new here and under dire circumstances. My beloved scl2, that I have had for a years, are on their last leg. I've had to splice one of the earbud back in at the Y-junction. So, I need a new pair. I want to know what would be a get set to replace them with. Hopefully something as durable and comfortable. They are the best IEM I've had, so my preference is Shure.
I do have a pair of SCL4s that I got for free that I could get replaced, but for $105, would they be worth it as a replacement?

You could check on Joker's and ClieOS's threads on IEMs.

Truth be told, the SCL2s aren't really worth it for the money (when I had them for a long period of time a few years ago reviewing them), even after the Kramer Mod.

You could look at the Brainwavz M1, it won't isolate as much and personally, I don't find it as comfy as the SCL2. The M1 has a more mid-centric sound, relatively well balanced, so its comparable in that sense with a somewhat mid-centric SCL2.

If Isolation and Comfort are of issues, do consider the Soundmagic PL50, very good sound for the cost. It has a mid centric sound that is very magical IMO, comparing it aand the SCL3 for example, which I was loaned for a long time as well, it makes the SCL3 sound nasal in comparison.

I just upgraded from my old scl2-k's, to a pair of Triple Fi's and Alessandro MS-1's.

I love the sound of the triple fi's, totally worth the money. But when it comes to comfort, i'd definately go for a pair of SE535 or 425's.
