I was told by shure that they dont' repair their in-earphones, they just ship you new ones because of sanitary reasons. Has anyone got their headphones replaced by Shure? if so did they come in retail packaging. The reason I'm asking is because the wire on my E2 is broken and i sent it back to sure. I'm lookign to upgrade to E3. It sure would be nice to get them back in retail box, so they can be sold.

Are you in the US? If so call the service department at (800) 516-2525 and they can give you those details. I ask because outside of the US the policies are maintained by the distributor, not Shure.

Also, you can ask the service department if they would allow you to purchase the E3/E3c directly from them at a reduced price instead of receiving a new E2 as replacement.

thanks for the reply. Since I already sent them in , they will be replaced with a brand new Retail packaged E2c, but there is a chance that they will replace them with E3 for extra 80 bucks. (damn i should have caleld before i sent them in) In anycase, if anyone in NYC wants to pickup a pair of E2s with (new) 4 pairs of earwax guards and 4 pairs of medium foam buds for 70 bucks let me know
