i am using super slow roll off on sp2000, but I still prefer to use kse1500 internal dac, for me i get more loudness and feel the sound is more full and more engaging
So you may wish a shure kse2000 with "Shure Connect" as like "AK connect".
Kse2000 with wifi for streaming ready hahaha.
I am dreaming

That would be really cool tho lol

Or a KSE1800 with an even slimmer energizer with USB Type-C and a larger battery capacity.

Hey guys!

I need your help to sort my sanity. I used to own a KSE 1200 and absolutely loved it. It was the fastest, cleanest, and most natural sounding IEM.

Unfortunately, I had to sell them and after some time now, I got a chance to buy a KSE 1500. I though I was buying the “same sound” but I can’t seem to make it sound exactly the same. It is not sounding natural anymore. The 1500 is sounding a bit artificial and at times slower. Am I hearing it wrong?

Are there setting in the KSE 1500 that you would suggest enabling / disabling? I am using the same source as before (Astell Kern SP1000).

Thank you!

Just for reference, on the KSE 1200 I was using the Shure Olive tips and tried the same on the 1500

Is it possible that you have set it up to be using the DAC on the 1500 rather than the Astell & Kern? how are you connecting them?

I connected with the 3.5 mm Áudio interconnect cable:

intereting enough, I tried it as a DAC and AMP today morning and it sounds more natural through its DAC. Just weird. Still not exactly what I used to hear but much closer now.

I have also been tip rolling to see if I can improve a bit the bass without bloating it and take a bit the highs as they are a bit discrepant

You are not alone.
I also hear differece between them, 1200 and 1500.
1200 kicking fast and tight, more sharpness.
1500 is more sense of mid, centric and bolder.
Those are not much but it exist to my ears.
Internal dac sounds shaper and hash like diamond without polishing. It sounds like AK120II when it used as a digital source. Both own CS chip, not AKM. AKM sound more polished, widening sound stage but not all guys love its mid

I am trying to play with some tip rolling to see what I can do to get 1500 to sound more like 1200. There is one Spinfit that did help to widen the soundstage by quite a bit (CP800).

Any suggestions for tips? The Shure Olives were the best for the KSE 1200 but on the KSE 1500 not so much :frowning2:

Yes. Foam tip absorb the bass. As I said 1200 kick harder, as solid as rock, that black foam is OK for it.
I don't find foam tip as best so I always use diy tip, combine of multi materials, in which spinfit is one component, dust cover of shure stock and tube(bore adapter) of other spinfit.

My favorite are the Westone orange foam. Similar to the shure olives, but they're longer, so they provide better isolation & I think better low-frequency response. I've always found non-foam tips to be too bass-light and not sufficiently isolating...

I love the Comply TS-100, the TS series have been my go to tips for all my earphones for many years, love them. Do worry about the longevity of the plastic stem on the KSEs though, seems more fragile than most to me...I'm extra gentle when I change the tips out!
Same here, I am using the TSX-100s for the KSE1200s and the SE846s and I love them.

And have just bought and am trying the spin fits. No idea where that came from but having never heard them I decided to order them and give them a whirl on both the KSE1200s and SE846s. Definitely a different sound signature, had to change the filters on the SE846s
