these are unused cases
these are not earphones
there are no drivers inside
I bought the cases separately
but never used them
maybe now they will be useful to someone

I recently got a used Shure KSE1500 and I'm looking to connect it to my desktop DAC. Is it safe to use the DAC's XLR output, or should I stick with RCA to stereo 3.5mm connections? I have a Topping D90III Discrete and a Gustard X30.

If it's XLR balanced out, you're going to risk damage to the DAC/amp.
You gain nothing feeding a balanced output to a SE device. Literally. You'll lose the common noise rejection and the 6db gain associated with balanced topology.

May I ask if the amp clips if its fed with too much gain? I assume 4.4mm BAL line level will give more voltage than a 3.5mm single ended. What does the BAL input add aside from more compatibility with HiFi sources.

Clip occurs when the song changes, but there is no noise during playback. No white noise even when the amplifier is at maximum volume.
The advantage of the balanced input is that modern DAPs place great importance on balanced output circuits, so full balance shows the true value of the KSE!
There is one problem: If the GND of the BAL cable is not connected, high-frequency noise will enter because the AMP is a high-voltage power supply.
Balanced cable don’t need gnd line. This chinese amplifier look very weak - and button volume control propably degrade signal. But is small - this is plus.
