I think many of us here already know this (because so many of you told me about a possible positive outcome), but SHURE is a great company, with outstanding customer service.

They earned my respect/past/present/and future business by replacing a pair of e3c's that I had pinched and damaged the cord.

NO CHARGE.

Granted, this item was purchased from shure.com, and was less than a year old, but another company might make me want to feel like the jackass I am for damaging these great 'phones.

When I called about returning the 'phones (which were white), I inquired about maybe getting a pair of grey e3c's (which I had seen on several websites, but not shure's) to match my iRiver iHP-120, the helpful service rep told me those were e3's and were not available from shure.com. Yet, today, when I opened my box, my brand-new 'phones were GREY...THANKS, SHURE!!!

Hey that's nice to know - my Shures will be here in two days and I'm happy that my $500 investment will be backed up like that!!

BTW, do any of you guys know if it's possible to order a pair of earphones from Shure with a custom length cord? I'm thinking that it would be nice to have a set of E5c's with a shorter cord, for use with a remote ... Do you think they would do that?

uncle b: Glad we could help!

mavis: We can't do cables in custom lengths right now. Some users have used a cable management device to cinch up the slack, but with the E5c that might be an issue because of the crossover in the y-junction. It would be kind of heavy.

What device are you using the remote with?
