So yea this is sort of a really stupid thing I did. I left my Shure E3 headphones inside of my jacket and asked my mom to wash the jacket.

Now the Shure's are amazing. I use them everyday and they were a $150 dollar gift. So you know when I realized what happened today I was dissapointed. My last expectation would be that they still sounded perfect... I mean they are very well constructed. Nice thick wire, very durable all around. But to survive that? Yea actually they did! And they smell lemony-fresh.

That's amazing,

maybe you should write to Shure and tell them the story and ask them to put 'machine washable' as one E3c's feature.

Pondering if I should sell them now...

best of luck,

...tho' a short, sharp tap on something solid (like a 3 inch thick dining table) can break a driver.
Shure's returns dept replaced them no-questions-asked, and I now coil them up bud-end first. :embarrassment:

I've heard of ER-4P's surviving the same treatment. Basically, it seems to me that armature drivers are really durable, and as long as the housing/cable are well made, the canalphone should survive a lot of things.
