Hi everyone,

I have a pair fo Shure earphones and the wire insulation has split right where it sits on my ear, exposing the wiring. I need a way to repair this, preferably not with electrical tape. is there some type of liquid rubber that will seal this back up? Please help!!!

How old are the 'phones? If they are still under warranty, your best bet is to contact Shure and they'll take care of the problem. For my money, they have one of the best ccustomer service departments in the industry.
If they are out of warranty, a hardware store should have something that would work. I think there actually is something called liquid tape. Good luck.

Thanks for the fast response. I have already replaced these earphones once for the same problem. I guess I could try a warranty claim again. I will also look into the liquid tape.

Shure sent me a new pair of E5s twice........one time it was a problem with the cable, the other time the filter. They were great!
