Has anybody tried removing the memory fit cable or wire from these headphones? Are they better with or without them? If you have, please describe how you managed to remove it, I don't feel like making any mistakes.

Yep, I was in the same situation as you were in supahjew. When you first get the E5c's the "Memory Fit Wire" is a pain in the a**, but after some time you will get accustomed to it.

I agree completely. I started off hating the memory fit wire. After a time, I got very used to having it and I really like it. Now I prefer the E5 to the E4 for portable uses and that has mostly to do with the ease of taking it on and off that the memory wire provides once it is formed correctly.

If you really want it off some people have removed it by using a razor to carefully fillet it off from the rest of the wire. You can alternatively pick it off with your finger nail and tear it away.
