Where did you guy order your E4 and how much did you pay ? The best price I found online is from The Ear Plug *Super* Store ( 185$ + 7$ First-Class shipping ) but it has only one feedback on resellerrating so I'm kind of
confused.gif

And for you guys who have listened to both E3s and E4c, do you think it's worth the extra money over E3s ?

I ordered mine from earphonesolutions.com. They are also available from HeadRoom, The EarPlug Store and American Techpushers. All of these are supporters of this site and, as such, would be my first stop for shopping for the E4's.
I can tell you I have had a very good buying experience with earphonesolutions. Their communication is great and they will match prices of other Shure authorized dealers. I know others on this site have dealt with some of the other dealersthat are HeadFi supporters and have had a good experience as well. It might come down to which of these dealers currently has stock of the E4's to ship. They are filling and shipping the pre-orders now, so there's no telling what they have available for new orders.
good luck, Dean

Yes.

And I don't even like the E4's that much, but they are a definite improvement in sound quality

just got my e4c.
biggrin.gif

initial impression:
the midrange is very good. in fact, the best midrange i've heard. listening to the e4c makes me realise there are details in the midrange too. some noises from instruments are picked up, like the tapping of the fingers on the buttons (?) of the saxaphone can be heard. background whispers and breathings are picked up as well. amazing.

compared to the er6i, the er6i sounds more transparent and clear. it sounds like what a cd should sound like - very analytical and clinical. for the e4c, the sound is not that analytical. the high end still loses out to the er6i, but midrange is more detailed than the er6i. bass-wise, i feel that both the er6i and e4c are about the same. maybe the e4c sounds a tad more bassy, but not by much.

Resurecting this thread with the question of; If you still own a set of these do they get any airtime? In addition what if any low cost newer IEM have a like sound signiture? I still listen to mine mostly when cutting grass and quiet listening from time to time. I rarely see these for sale in the forums so it makes me wonder if most are still in use or collecting dust in a drawer.

My new IEMs arrive tomorrow - I thought I'd pop back here for old times sake.

My Shures are still going strong and still come out when I need the isolation. It's been fun but it's time to move on. Something tells me my new buds may not last as long but who knows. See you in another 10 years :D
