Finally decided it's time to make a decision about the cracking cable and cable surrounds on my beloved Shure e4c. I really like the sound signature from the e4c- detailed, smooth, and almost enough bass. Question is would it be better to replace the cable and have the e4c modded to accept detachable cables (if possible) or get new IEMs. Haven't kept up with IEMs over the last 6-8 yrs and wondering how much technology has advanced.
TLR...
Two options:
1. Repair/replace cable on Shure e4c for $60-$120
2. Get a new pair of IEMs; how much would I need to spend to get sound as good or better than the Shure e4c?
Appreciate any feedback!
