I have to make my final decision soon, Shure E3C or Etymotic Er6i?

I've heard:
Shure E3C = great (more bass, but rolled off highs)
Etymotic ER6i = great (sounds thin, but detailed highs)

I'm more inclined to buy the Etymotic ER6i as I've seen some frequency response graphs, and it rolls off at a higher frequency than the Shure E3C. and also since it complements my iPod Photo. Is it easy to drive on an iPod Photo? Low impedence = easier to drive?

What I want is a clear, detailed sonic orgasm. I want to be able to have a musical orgasm in my ears. I used the Sony EX71s, but it still has not fulfilled my musical orgasm needs. Will the Etymotic ER6i be my best option? I don't want boomy bass, I just want accurate sonic bliss!

Thanks

Please reply asap, I'm about to order from ebay uk soon!!!

See my review.

I had a chance to try 6i before getting E3c and to my ears (congested and unbalanced) and eyes (construction, flimsy cord) Etys were in a lower league. I think E3c are more comparable to 4p. Probably 6i compare favorably with E2s and 4p bests E3c but latter represent sweet middle spot.

yeah, which one you like is really more of a preference thing than an absolute. both are great phones. enjoy your etys, and get the hell out of here or you will end up spending a whole lot more than 60 pounds....

If you equalize both (fix the roll off) you can get the as much detail with the E3's, plus the fuller, more present sound. I also believe the E3's are good enough to compare to the ER4, and in my opinion it bests the ER4 is certain things while loses in others. The E3s sound also fuller than the ER4, and their bass is not boomy at all, but simply easier to hear, and more musical. On the etys the bass and mids seem to get lost with outside noise, and the bass when equalize stays sounding thin (yet louder) for some reason. The shures mids are much lusher than those of the etys, which rocks for rock, giving the music more presence. The shures in my opinion are also more musically accurate. WHile in my opinion the shures are much better than Etys, if detail is what you are looking for, then skip the ER6i and go straight for the Er4.

Can't agree anymore. Clear, detailed and a more-bassed er6 version, suitble for most kinds of music type..

Them 6is are still pretty good though. And the white color matches better with the ipod than the E3c, even though the E3s sound better IMO.
